Tall Ships / Boston Harbor.
After a heated discussion on what fun to have today we decided to head into Boston. The weather was near perfect after a disastrous summer start. Today was a circle. It began at CambridgeSide Galleria with a yummy stop for pizza at the California Pizza Kitchen. We swung by the Museum of Science, dropped Thomas off and to say hello to the T-Rex and the Duck Boats, then walked across the bridge into Charlestown, headed for the Navy Yard. The tall ships are in town again and crowds lined up for a walk aboard sailing vessels and WWII destroyers on this beautiful, hot July New England day.
From Charlestown, we hopped aboard the T-bus to Sullivan square to hook up with the subway. Then we took the Orange Line to Haymarket and walked over to Atlantic Avenue where more ships were waiting. We followed the stream of tourists along the waterfront and stopped in Fanueil Hall Market Place and Quincy Market to listen to bands, watch the street performers and checked out the cool stuff at Urban Outfitters. Then we strolled around ending up at South Station. We grabbed a quick dinner at the food court at South Station, and snagged the Red Line, transferring to the Green Line to the Esplanade to catch the Oldies 103 concert featuring The Temptations. Crowds gathered on the lawn and on boats on the river to catch the strains of Motown on the Charles on a picture perfect summer night. As the concert was concluding we beat the crowd back across the bridge to MGH and back full-circle to where we started the day, hours later, back at the Galleria to pick up the car where we had parked at C Level.
