Last year when I visited India, I met my school friend Rafi and his family for a dinner at their house. I found out that his neice goes to school at Northeastern University in Boston. I promised Rafi and his brother that I would pay her a visit when I returned home. Today was the day that I visited her and Rafi's son, who happened to be in Boston too.
Farah and her husband treated me to a meal fit for a king (or Raja) with real Mughlai biryani and other Indian dishes traditionally served during festivals. I enjoyed their company, and remining about my school days with their uncles, aunts and parents. Later, we took the T and ended up in Faneuil Hall, where we walked through the shops and historic landmarks. We returned to their apartment to have a cup of real Indian chai, made by Farah. It was a taste of home. It was wonderful getting to know all of them and it was such an enjoyable evening.
